Having had one of the most grueling pre-season's fixtures out of all the NBA teams this offseason where they played six games in the space of two weeks the Utah Jazz seemed to be in good shape for their season opener as they won four of those six matches but in reality, their start to the 2024-24 season has been somewhat shocking as they have been dreadful to say the least.
While in fairness to the Jazz their opening fixtures haven’t been kind to them as they hosted the Memphis Grizzlies and the inform Golden State Warriors in their first two fixtures of the season before traveling to last year’s Western Conference champions in the Dallas Mavericks for their third game.
Now facing a possibility of three consecutive home defeats in as many games the Jazz will be hoping for a turnaround against the Sacramento Kings this Tuesday as they host the California side at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Having lost their last home game against the Golden State Warriors with an embarrassing scoreline of 127-86 the Jazz will be hoping for a better performance against the Sacramento Kings this week as they look to register their first home win of the 2024-25 season.
The Jazz had nobody else but themselves to blame during their 41-point drubbing at the hands of the Warriors as they attempted 92 field goals but were only able to convert 29 of them boasting an abysmal 31.5 field goal percentage on the night.
Additionally, the Salt Lake side only converted 9 of their 42 attempts from beyond the arch which left them with a poor 3-point percentage of 21.4%. The side will need to do better in the shooting department if they are to win against the Kings. If not it could be another painful night for the Utah supporters as they will be punished by a more effective Kings side come Tuesday.
While the Utah Jazz have had a mixed start to their 2024-25 season so far, the Sacramento Kings on the other hand have been absolutely horrendous as they are yet to register a win and remain the only team yet in the league to register a win both in the pre-season and the regular season matchups.
Having played 5 pre-season games before the start of the season the Kings lost every single one of them and conceded an average of 113.5 points during that time while only returning 101.6 points. This abysmal start to the NBA season has been quite the contrary of what we have been used to in the past two seasons as they finished in the playoff’s places during the 2023-24 season while they finished second in their conference the year prior to that.
Currently at the bottom of their division the Kings have started their regular season with close defeats to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers with their defeat to their state rivals in general being a tough one for the team given that they were leading until the early parts of the fourth quarter before a LeBron James triple double crushed any hopes of a win and left them wanting for more during the night.
Despite their early season losses, the Kings have a roster that could give any team a run for their money especially with the retention of Malik Monk and Alex Len and with the addition of DeMar DeRozan to a team already featuring the likes of DeAaron Fox and Sabonis the Kings just need to find a rhythm before they can light up the beam for the first time this season.

With both teams sitting pretty low in the Western Conference standings the onus will be on both sides to get the win and prove that they are eligible for the playoffs come 2025. While Utah will feel they have the upper hand given that they are at home and they were the eventual winners when these two sides last met in pre-season the Kings cannot be counted out as they do have the better record between the two in the recent past as they are unbeaten in this fixture in their last four regular season games and will have a side that are shooting more effectively in the league this season even if it is a side without a win.
With that said the bettors should have a wide array of odds especially with the scoring fluctuating on both sides team totals should be one to watch out for as both sides should be shooting a lot more during the game and should post a good scoreline especially after the two sides do have a good scoring history against one another.

| Walker Kessler | 9.0 | 11.5 | 1.5 | 0.5/3.0 |
Although the recent forms of both teams may not provide a good and clear picture of how this game could go but statistically the tie does favor the Sacramento Kings as they are unbeaten against the Utah Jazz in four games during the regular season and have been extremely unlucky not to get a win in their first few fixtures. While the Utah Jazz themselves have been dealt with a series of unfortunate fixtures their team just hasn’t been shooting well and comparing their 31.5% field goal shooting to Sacramento’s 51.1% it is hard to argue against the Kings taking the win on Tuesday night.
