The start of the Sheffield Shield season is always an exciting time for not just fans of domestic cricket in Australia but also fans across the globe in cricketing hot spots!
And with the Men's Ashes kicking off next month, there will be plenty of attention on the competition from the other side of the world as England fans start to assess who their team will be playing against.
Queensland went all the way to the final in the Sheffield Shield last year but were beaten by four wickets so have plenty of unfinished business to attend to.
As for Tasmania, they finished next to bottom in 2024/25 so will be looking for a big improvement.

It was all meant to end so differently for Queensland in last season's final but ultimately they were never going to lift the 2024/25 Sheffield Shield after they were bowled out for 95 in the first innings of the game!
They were in the final on merit though so many pundits are expecting another strong and maybe even successful season for Marnus Labuschagne's side across this shield season.
There will be plenty of pressure on the international pair of Usman Khawaja and Labuschagne, both in need of runs to secure their places in the Ashes squad, but both with bags of experience.
With the ball, eexpect Mark Steketee, Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson to deliver the goods.

After an overall disappointing Sheffield Shield campaign for Tasmania during the 2024/25 season, they finished with a flourish as they hammered New South Wales by 326 runs.
We expect that game to be the template for future fixtures in this season and that means the likes of skipper Jordan Silk delivering in both innings alongside the likes of Caleb Jewell and keeper-batter Jake Doran.
Tasmania are always a stronger team at home and Brisbane offers the most alien conditions for them but we still expect them to be competitive, particularly with Matthew Kuhnemann and Riley Meredith leading the bowling attack.
Expect Beau Webster to also be key with bat and ball.

Summer is on its way in Brisbane and the temperature will get hotter as this game progresses. Expect a high of 26 on Saturday but then into the 30s on days three and four.
The Allan Border Field is an excellent place to bat with very consistent pace and bounce. Any early green on the pitch will burn off and a par score will be in the region of 350.
Although there may be something in the pitch early on at the Allan Border Field, we expect both skippers to want to bat first if they win the toss ahead of Saturday's game.
