This could be a possible dress rehearsal for the finals of this season as the top two teams will clash once again. Their earlier encounter this season was an entertainer as the Bulls won the game by just 2 points. Though that was on the second day of the season and both teams have come a long way since then.

The Bulls have a similar attack and defensive structure to the Puneri Paltan. Both teams are dependent on young raiders and experienced defenders. Though the Paltan has the edge due to the presence of the shrewd Fazel Attrachali, the Bengaluru Bulls have been tactically stronger. 

Both teams have had similar results over the season except that the Puneri Paltan has 2 tied games as compared to the Bulls. But this match will be one of the best matches of the tournament as seldom do we see two equally matched sides fighting for supremacy.

Former champions look on course for another title if everything goes as per their plans. They have remained in the top 3 of the points table for most of the season courtesy of dominant match-winning performances. The Bulls have developed a fantastic combination of young raiders and dynamic defenders. Coach Randhir Singh is one of the most intelligent coaches on the circuit and he has properly planned the entire journey considering that this is a long tournament.

Raider Bharat Hooda tops the list of raiders with 177 raid points from 143 successful raids. This includes 11 Super 10’s and 7 Super raids.

Defender Saurabh Nandal is second on the list of top defenders with 47 successful tackles in 15 games. Captain Mahender Singh and left corner Aman have been an integral part of this hunting trio. 

Raiders Vikash Kandola and Neeraj Narwal have contributed to the success of the team. 

As a team, the Bulls have conducted 277 successful raids which is the highest by any team. They also have the maximum number of successful raids among all. The Bengaluru Bulls have earned 588 team points which are also the highest.

With so many top positions, the Bulls look unbeatable.  They have inflicted 30 all-outs which is also the best by any team but at the same, the Bulls have conceded 20 all-outs in 15 games. 

What makes them even more dangerous is their match sense as they are able not just to maintain the intensity but even adjust to opponents. They have been involved in high-scoring games as well as slow ones but they have never panicked. This has been their strength. 

The Bulls will look forward to improving their record over the Puneri Paltan. But they will have to be careful too considering the rising stocks of the Paltan.

Puneri Paltan Preview

The Paltan has been one of the most vibrant teams on the circuit. It’s a pleasure to watch them play together as a unit. They display the youthful exuberance of a champion side as well as the effervescence in their game. They have had an odd day at the office but overall the Puneri Paltan has dominated their opponents. 

They beat the Haryana Steelers by a margin of 13 points in their last game. The Paltan defense was so intense that the Steelers could manage just 5 raid points in the first half of that match. Right cover Abhinesh and left corner Fazel Attrachlai were lethal in their approach. 

The rise of the Paltan can also be attributed to the fact that their third raider Akash Shinde has been in phenomenal form. He has added to the worries of the opposition teams by looting raid points to complement his teammates like Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat. This has given an extra edge to the Paltan’s raiding. 

Akash has earned 77 raid points in 15 matches and most of them have come in recent games. Fazel has executed 39 successful tackles in 13 matches. The Paltan has executed 253 successful raids along with 144 successful tackles.

The Puneri Paltan has inflicted 22 all-outs in their 15 matches and has earned 521 team points. The increase in their intensity in the second half of matches has been commendable which has helped them dominate their opponents. 

But the Paltan needs to work on certain aspects. They lost a couple of games, first to the Tamil Thalaiva followed by a loss to U Mumba. They lost both games by just 1 point.  It was a tactical error in the last raid which cost them the match. Also, the Paltan is prone to slowing the pace of the game when they have a good lead. But this ploy has backfired as their opponents took that opportunity to come close and force a TIE.

It will be a tough match for the Paltan against the Bulls as both sides are evenly matched. But the Paltan has to aim for revenge for the loss suffered earlier in the season at the hands of the Bulls.

Welcome to the dress rehearsal of the finals at the Gachibowli indoor stadium in Hyderabad as the Bengaluru Bulls clash with the Puneri Paltan. 

It’s a face-off between:

Bharat Hooda/ Neeraj Narwal vs Aslam Inamdar/ Mohit Goyat

Saurabh Nandal/ Aman vs Fazel Attrachali/ Abhinesh.

Both teams are evenly matched with brilliant resources. The Bengaluru Bulls will start aggressively. Bharat will score a Super 10 while Vikash and Neeraj will contribute significantly. The Bulls defense will be able to trouble one of the top Puneri raiders but they will have an issue hunting Akash Shinde. 

Fazel Attrachali will display his top move- the aggressive waist hold close to the mid-line to pull raiders back into their half. This will put a lot of pressure on the Bengaluru Bulls in the first half. 2 out of the 3 Puneri raiders will score a Supre 10. This will be an explosive encounter with the second half turning into a street fight.
