Bengal Warriors began their crusade of this season trouncing UP Yodha, while Gujarat Fortune Giants got the better of Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Gujarat Fortune Giants once again displayed their special flavour of aggressive kabaddi as they defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers. Once again their defence doing well with the corner combination of Girish Ernak and Hawk Ravinder Pahal, not to forget the contribution of their effervescent coach Manpreet.

This encounter will be closely watched by a lot of teams as it will the clash of strong defence. Both the teams have displayed amazing tackling skills while neutralizing the raiders regularly. Both teams have got good Corner Cover combinations working for them.

Darshan has done it for the Warriors while Girish Ernak was effective for the Giants. This will be a closely fought contest.

Bengal Warriors Preview

The defending champions started their campaign on a high note with their victory over the Pardeep Narwal lead UP Yodhas. All rounder Mohammad Nabibaksh continued from where he left in the last season collecting 11 points in the match.

Veteran Sukesh Hedge also scored well along with Nabibaksh. The most important aspect of their strategy was they were able to keep Pardeep Narwal off the mat for a significant duration and also inflicted two all out’s  in the match. Hence their defence is working very well, just like a well oiled machine. 

The most impressive component for the warriors was their captain Maninder who scored 205 raid points in 20 games last season.  Improved fitness, exceptional leadership and supporting role as the 3rd raider helped the warriors ransack their opponents.

While taking on the Fortune Giants, Bengal raiders will have to be careful of the corners, Girish Ernak and Ravider Pahal as both of them have shown amazing skills in their first match. The Fortune Giants will definitely target Mohammad Nabibaksh, hence Warriors will need a back up plan.

Gujarat Giants Preview

One of the most colourful and effervescent team in the PKL started the season with a victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers. They play naturally, aggressively and believe in controlling the pace of the game. They did it yet again in their first encounter.

The best part was, coach Manpreet Singh did not use his experienced raiders like Ajay and Mahendra Rajput, gave the opportunity to Rakesh Narwal and Rakesh who earned raids points with relative ease.

The highlight for the Giants is the form of left corner Girish Ernak who bulldozed the opposition raiders leaving them no space to turn back. Right Corner Ravinder Pahal also came to the party late in the second half. 

Golden combination of Parvesh Bhaiswal and Sunil worked wonders. The adaptability of this team is amazing as Parvesh plays left corner in certain situations. 

Giants continued with their strategy of not giving away points to raiders and in a low scoring match kept their cool. This will be their way of playing further in the season.

Winning Prediction

This will the battle of two sides with heavy artillery, their defence. Gujarat Fortune Giants are known to plan each minute of the game and like to control the pace. If they can corner Mohammad Nabibaksh, they can dominate. They are also known to inflict all outs vey early. But they have to be careful especially by the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second where they are slightly dull. Girish Ernak will be the star in the left corner.

Warriors have to make sure their main raiders stay on the mat for the longest period so that they can keep earning points. Their defence looks good, hence avoiding unforced errors will be important. This will be a low scoring game hence the warriors also need to be patient and not fall prey to the trap laid by the Giants.

Bengal Warriors will win this encounter, with a very small margin.
