Defending Champions Bengal Warriors have had a torrid time this season. They started off well, struggled mid-season and they are going downhill as the knock outs come closer. This has been a disappointing journey for a team full of talented players. 

The Telegu Titans have nothing to lose in the season. Time and again they came close to beating stronger sides but could not cross the finish line. Another major factor is the absence of any senior player in the squad who could guide the team through these difficult times. That is the reason why they find themselves in the 11th spot in the points table with 41 points after 17 games. They do not have many matches left to cover up for all their mistakes.

The introduction of veteran all rounder Ran Singh had eased a few things, but the Warriors still have a lot of issues in their team combination and defence. They also do not have much of raiding options to support Manider. Akash Pikalmunde has done well in the opportunities that he has got. 

Nabibaksh has been predictable while Darshan and Abozar Meghai have underperformed. Defender Amit Nirwal has attacked raiders successfully and his contribution will make the difference in this game.

The Warriors looked fatigued as they were taken down easily by the Patna Pirates in their last game. They have started using their reserve players but it will take some time for these youngsters to start contributing. All rounder’s Rohit, Manoj Gowda and left corner Parveen Satpal got an opportunity against the Pirates. The only “Knight in the shining armour” for the Warriors has been King Maninder. He has earned 200 raid points including 12 Super 10’s though he was kept off the mat by the Pirates in the last game.

The Warriors will be playing their second match in 2 days and this will take a toll on them physically. They will need a miracle to win all their remaining games so as to give them an outside chance to make it to the play-off’s

Telugu Titans Preview

The Telegu Titans have looked like kinder-garden kids attending classes meant for higher grades. They have worked hard in most of their games but they have not been able to win them. They lost their last game to the UP Yodha after leading for 95 % of the match. The Titans have missed out on finer details this season as they have been steady at the 12th position in the points table. They have won just 1 game out of the 16 matches they have played. 

They will play for their pride for the rest of the season and dream of winning all their remaining matches. They have a golden opportunity against the Bengal Warriors who have looked ordinary. Raiders Ankit Beniwal and Rajneesh have been effective in most of their matches. The return of Rajneesh is encouraging as this give the Titans an opportunity to score in both halves. Raider Raju Galla has been their backup. Defenders left corner Sandeep Kandola and Adarsh have performed consistently but the remaining defenders have been extremely inconsistent. Defender Surinder continues to leak points regularly thus keeping the Titans desperate for comebacks all the time.

This match will be a test of their physical and mental skills as they will be playing their second match in 2 days. The Telgu Titans need to shrug off all disappointments and play within their limitations in the remainder of the tournament. They will need to exploit the Warrior defence and hope that they panic. That is the only way the Titans can upset the defending champions. The Titans will try and tackle Maninder similar to how the Pirates did in their last match.
