A mouthwatering contest between teams struggling to win games consistently is always an exciting prospect. Bengal Warriors and UP Yodha must be disappointed more with themselves rather than the results.

The UP Yodha has some of the best players on the circuit but this season they have not been able to create magic on the mat. The Yodha is currently placed 11th in the points table which is not just shocking but difficult to digest. UP Yodha fought tooth and nail against the Haryana Steelers but settled for a TIE. It was a game that they should have won considering they were leading by 10 points at the end of the first half.

Bengal Warriors have been equally inconsistent. They settled for a TIE against the Tamil Thalaiva and then went on to beat the Gujarat Fortune Giants. The Warriors have a fantastic team but they seem to lack the inertia. They lose steam suddenly and look amateur in the second half of most games.

Both teams will be desperate for a win as they would like to keep their hopes alive to finish in the top 6 in the points table.

Bengal Warriors Preview

The Former Champions have performed below average this season. They started slowly but picked up pace from the 2nd week of the season. But they seem to be oscillating between overwhelming performances to lazy outings.

They are placed 8th in the points table after playing 10 games. They have won 5 games and settled for a TIE in one of the matches. Surprisingly that TIE came against the resurgent Tamil Thalaiva. They went on to beat the Gujarat Fortune Giants in a high-scoring game. Maninder scored a double Super 10 looting 20 points. Deepak Niwas Hooda and Shrikant Jadhav complemented him well to add to the woes of the Fortune Giants. But the Warriors were able to sustain only because of their deadly defense.

The Warriors earned 11 tackle points in that game inflicting 2 all-outs in the second half. But the former champions need to be careful as they conceded 2 all-outs in the first half of that game. They survived the scare as Maninder scored 20 raid points in that match.

Fortunately for the Warriors, Maninder Singh and Girish Ernak have been in devastating form. Mani has conducted 5 Super raids while Girish has executed 32 successful tackles in 10 games.

But the Warriors have conceded 338 points to their opponents. They have conducted 100 successful team tackles which have allowed them to stay afloat.

The Bengal Warriors have inflicted 15 all-outs while conceding 10 in their 10 games.

They will be up against a strong UP Yodha side which will be desperate for a win. The Warriors cannot afford to slip in their defense against the likes of Pareep Narwal and Surender Gill. A win in this game will elevate the Warriors in the points table.

U.P. Yoddha Preview

The Yodha has underperformed this season. Even though they have a wonderful set of players, the UP Yodha has not been able to convert its talent into results. They haven’t played badly as much as their position in the points table suggests. They are placed 11th in the points table after playing 10 games. The Yodha has not been able to maintain its winning spree through the season.

They had a thumping victory over the Telegu Titans but lost to the Puneri Paltan in their next game. The Yodha then settled for a TIE against the Haryana Steelers, a match they should have won. The UP Yodha has been slow to react in match situations. They were ahead by 10 points by the end of the first half against the Steelers. But they were shocked in the second half by the sudden increase in the pace of the game. Not only did they concede an all-out but they also gave away 17 points to their opponents thus settling for a TIE.

Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill have been phenomenal this season. Both have earned 197 raid points between them in 10 games. Surender has punched in 6 Super 10’s while Pardeep has notched up 3.

The UP Yodha has conducted 173 successful team raids out of their overall 412 team raids.

But they have been able to execute just 91 successful team tackles in 10 games. This has pushed them to the brink.

Defenders Ashu Singh and left corner Sumit have done all the hard work but they haven’t got enough support from the others. Ashu has executed 27 successful tackles while Sumit has earned 23 successful tackles in 10 games. But their opponents have exploited players like Captain Nitesh Kumar and left cover Shubham who haven’t been in great touch.

The Yodha has always given a tough fight to the Bengal Warriors. They have won 3 out of their 10 games against the Warriors and the Yodha has also forced a Tie in 3 other games. The UP Yodha should exploit the reactive Warriors and at least force a TIE even if they can’t beat the Warriors.

Another exciting contest is on the cards as the UP Yodha takes on the Bengal Warriors. Both teams have the firepower but they are slow movers. Both teams need to win this game desperately in order to keep their hopes alive to move ahead. Both teams have been guilty of losing steam in the second half of the game.

The Bengal Warriors will depend on captain Maninder for steady earnings. Maninder has to be careful as he suffers a sudden drop in form after a few good games. He will hope that the drop doesn’t come against the UP Yodha. Left corner Girish Ernak will trouble either Pardeep Narwal or Surender Gill. All-rounder Deepak Niwas Hooda will play a crucial role in this game.

The UP Yodha will have to tighten up its defense else it will fall prey to Maninder Singh. Left corner Sumit and right cover Ashu Singh will have to work overtime to earn a steady income from tackles. They will be instrumental in inflicting all-outs on the Bengal Warriors. Pardeep Narwal and Surender Singh will score Super 10’s to take their team past the finish line.

UP Yodha will win.
