Defending Champions had a dream start to their campaign as they beat a young U Mumba by 14 points. Dabang Delhi had everything going in their favor since the first raid. Superstar Naveen Kumar scored another Super 10 with 13 points in the game. 

While Ashu Malik supported well with 7 raid points in the game, it was the Dabang defense that was impregnable. The defense was able to earn an impressive 15 tackle points in the match which set the tone for the champions. Right cover Ravi Kumar and left corner Sandeep Dhull combined effortlessly in the first half while defenders Vishal and Krishnan trapped and hunted with ease.

This has been the hallmark of Dabang Delhi which has converted them into a consistent unit. Naveen Kumar continues to baffle the opposition with his lightning-fast moves and escapes. While teams have been able to decode most of the top raiders on the circuit, Naveen continues to come up with new tricks.

But Dabang Delhi does not have a great record against the Fortune Giants. In the 10 meetings, they have lost 5 times to the Giants while sharing the laurels twice. In most of the previous games, Gujarat Fortune Giants has been able to create leakages in the Dabang defense.

The Fortune Giants are a team with a lot of swag. They play an innovative and unique brand of kabaddi which is unconventional and raw. But they have succeeded more often than other teams. They settled for a TIE in their first game against the Tamil Thalaiva. 

The match was marred by an unfortunate incident as captain Chandran Ranjit collided with Pawan Sehrawat resulting in Pawan being taken to the hospital with a serious knee injury. The Fortune Giants started well in their first game getting the Thalaiva out quickly in the first half.

Raider Rakesh scored an impressive Super 10 with some great support from newcomer Prateek Dhaiya. Gujarat Fortune Giants never had any superstars in their line-up, yet they have been able to play mental games on the mat. They dominate, intimidate, rush through their raids, and hustle while they defend.

Their defense was a bit ineffective in the first game as they could earn 6 tackle points in the entire game. This can be a cause of concern as they take on Dabang Delhi. Rinku Narwal and Saurav Gulia have a lot of experience but young defenders like all-rounder Arkam Shaikh and Shankar Gadai will need to improve their intensity while hunting.

Gujarat displayed their unique style in their first game but they will need to punch above their weight if they want to beat Dabang Delhi.

This will be another interesting encounter between these two teams. Naveen Kumar looks in ominous form as he will be difficult to rein in. Gujarat was able to beat Dabang Delhi last season in the absence of Naveen Kumar. Left corner Sandeep Dhull, and defenders Krishnan and Ravi Kumar will be difficult to evade. Dabang Delhi has some good players as a backup in case they need to replace someone from their starting 7.

Gujarat Fortune Giants are an unpredictable unit and Dabang Delhi cannot take them for granted. Raider Rakesh is quick to score and they have the Korean raider Don Geon to spice up things. Gujarat will have to be very careful in their defense as their weakness in this department was exposed in their first game.
