The Pirates were suddenly looking unbeatable in the next few games. But the rise of the Pirates was stalled in the last few games and now they find themselves at the 7th spot in the points table.

Dabang has probably gone beyond the point of no return and they can spoil the party for the Pirates. The Patna Pirates will be desperate to win this game in order to keep their hope alive. The defending champions will seek revenge from the Pirates and this will be a mouthwatering contest.

The defending champions have been the reverse of the rags-to-riches story. Never before have we seen such an anti-thesis. Dabang started off in style as they won 5 consecutive games. Everyone was confident about their tactics as star raider Naveen was in devastating form. Then came the match which changed the outlook towards Dabang Delhi. It was the match with the Patna Pirates which send them down the spiral. 

Naveen Kumar injured himself in that match which Dabang lost. Fortunately, Naveen recovered in time for the next game but then the defending champions never looked the same. They went on to lose 6 consecutive games shocking not just their fans but all the kabaddi lovers. They did manage to beat the Telegu Titans but lost the next game to the UP Yodha.

Dabang’s future this season looks bleak as they have slipped to the 10th spot in the points table. They have the pride to play for as well as the chance to gain some pleasure by being party spoilers. They have scores to settle with the Patna Pirates who damaged their ship midseason. 

Naveen Kumar continues his good run with 157 raid points in 127 successful raids. He has been supported nicely by young raiders like Ashu Malik and Manjeet. All-rounder Vijay Malik was introduced very late in the season which was a big tactical blunder by Dabang Delhi.

The defense broke down for the defending champions and it has reached a point where the damage is irreparable. Dabang’s defense has been able to execute just 123 successful team tackles in 14 matches with a success rate of just 31%.

Though Dabang has won 540 team raid points they have conceded 560 team points making life difficult on the mat. The defending champions have inflicted 19 all-outs but they have conceded 25 and most of these have come in the last few games. Dabang Delhi has shown the tendency to concede more than 1 all-out in the second half of matches. They will certainly seek revenge in their next match against the Patna Pirates. Delhi could cut short the Pirate journey with a thumping victory.

Patna Pirates Preview

Former champions had a chequered journey this season. They have displayed all possible behavioral patterns in their performances. They lost their first 5 games which was a shocker to their fans. Then they looked like a completely different side with the same set of players.

They were at the crossroads where they met Dabang Delhi. The Pirates squeezed the defending champions and hypnotized them beyond repair. The Pirates then went on to win 5 consecutive games sending shockwaves in the camps of other teams. They looked invincible and unstoppable. Suddenly they lost track of the season and they looked vulnerable again in their last couple of games. 

The Pirates were thrashed by U Mumba in an earlier match followed by a TIE against the Tamil Thalaiva. The Patna raiders suffered a breakdown as U Mumba completely tied them down in that game. This affected the Pirates to such an extent that they lost the game by a margin of 13 points. This was followed by a shocker against the Thalaiva who forced the Pirates to share the treasure. 

In the first half of that match, the Pirates conceded an all-out, and their defense was not able to tackle Tamil raider Narender who scored 16 points in that match. The Pirates managed to come back in the second half and saved themselves from losing the game. The Pirates find themselves in a tricky situation as they need to win all their remaining matches to keep their hopes alive for the playoff.

Raider Sachin Tanwar is their main hope as he has earned 52 Do-or-Die raid points which is the highest by any raider this season. All-rounder Rohit Gulia has scored 94 raid points this season for the Pirates.

Defenders Mohammedreza and Sunil are on the list of the top 10 defenders of the season and the Pirates have executed 125 successful team tackles. But the Pirates are following a strategy to slow down the game and gamble on the DoD raids. They do not have a lot of options for raiding and are heavily dependent on Sachin Tanwar. As they take on Dabang Delhi, the Pirates will feel the pressure as Dabang can spoil their party.

A contest between maverick teams produces a lot of entertainment. The Pirates need to win every game from here while Dabang Delhi will seek revenge from the Pirates.

Dabang Delhi has been sidelined due to consecutive losses in the last few games. They will once again depend on Naveen Kumar to spice up their performance. Naveen will score a Super 10 while Vijay Malik will give him good support. Defenders Sandeep Dhull and Vishal will make life difficult for the Pirate raiders thus reducing their overall income. 

Patna Pirates will play on empty raids and expect Sachin Tanwar to convert DoD raids into Super raids. Rohit Gulia will be the main raid point earner for the Pirates. Left corner Mohammedreza will target Naveen Kumar while defender Sunil will leave his impact. 

The second half of the match will be much more entertaining as both teams will be in a hurry to outflank each other resulting in a lot of unforced errors.
