Delhi Dabang was known to be a team that would finish 6th to 8th in the first few seasons. That was due to inconsistency, team combination and lack of a star raider. They surprised everyone last season with their flawless performance, attacking game and supreme team combinations. Heavily dependent on their defence, the Dabangs came up with their trump card Naveen Kumar who continued his good form of season 6 deep into this season. Young Naveen blasted the opposition through the season with 319 raid points including 21 successive super 10’s. 

Naveen has Ajay Thakur for company now. The defence is heavily fortified with Joginder Narwal, veteran Jeeva, Mohit and Sumit. The X factor could be all-rounder Manjit Chillar, who may be past his prime but still can pack a punch. Dabang’s have a variety in their defence as well as in the raiding party. This will be a wonderful opportunity for youngsters like Balram, Neeraj Narwal, Ashu Malik and Sushant Sail to showcase their talent.

A new look Puneri Paltan have demolition man Rahul Chaudhary in their squad. Rahul and young Turk Pawan could help the Paltan’s create havoc in the enemy camp. While Rahul Chaudhary have over 1000 points in PKL history, Pawan has an impressive 75% not out rate. 

Nitin Tomar, Pankaj Mohite, Akash Shinde form the supporting raiding party. But Puneri Paltan have always been a defence heavy side. This time they have some big names- Vishal Bharadwaj, Sombir, Baldev and Iranian Haji Tajik. All of them have been very reliable defenders in PKL. 

With this line-up, Paltan is a dangerous and lethal combo. Stingy in their raids and miserly in their defence. This could be the recipe for success for Puneri Paltan. 

Puneri Paltan have invested in local talent this season, this young group is expected to display raw and powerful swag on the mat.

This is going to be a very close contest between two very strong teams. Dabang Delhi will bank on their performance last time around but this is a new season, after a gap of two years. Puneri Paltan have always been strong starters and with Rahul Chaudhary, they would like to start with a bang. Both teams have a good all-round game though their styles vary. 

Dabang Delhi would be expecting their defence to clip of the wings of Rahul Chaudhary and expect Ajay Thakur to support Pawan in the raiding duties.
