Gujarat Giants started season 10 with a victory over the Telegu Titans. It was a hard fought win for the Giants but they have set the tone for the upcoming games. Gujarat displayed a typical Fazel Attrachali style template as they kept up the pressure on their opponents. The biggest surprise was young raider Sonu who executed a daring heist of 5 points just at the beginning of the second half to steal the show. Gujarat Giants were successful in keeping Star Pawan Sherawat off the mat for over 12 minutes of the game and that proved to be the decisive factor.

Bengaluru Bulls have one of the best raiding parties among all teams apart from the best defenders. They bought Vikash Kandola for over 55 lakh in the auction, thus getting a perfect partner for their young raider Bharat Hooda. Defender Saurabh Nandal was in devastating form last year as he was in the top 10 defenders list. 

This encounter will be a clash of different styles. The Gujarat Giants are tenacious opponents while the Bulls have a never say die attitude. Raider Neeraj Narwal of the Bulls may turn on the heat against the young Gujarat defense.

The Gujarat Giants are back with renewed vigor with a bit of Iranian twist. “Sultan” Fazel Attrachali is their captain and with coach Ram Mehar Singh at the helm of affairs, they may just rewrite history the Patna Pirate way. 

They beat the Telegu Titans in their first game by a margin of 6 points. They trailed at the end of the first half only to surprise their opponents with a Super raid by young raider Sonu who decimated the Titans with 5 point raid. He scored a Super 10 in his first game.

All-rounders Nabibaksh and Rohit Gulia joined the celebrations with 8 points between them and they were instrumental in keeping Pawan Sehrawat off the mat through the game. The squad includes 7 all-rounders among 20 players. Captain Fazel Attrachali made some daring moves while tackling the Telegu Titans. Overall the Gujarat Giants will be happy with their performance as they will look forward to continue the momentum.

But the Giants will have to get used to some heavy workload as they take on the Bengaluru Bulls in back to back games. Gujarat have an uncanny knack of varying the pace of the match as per their will. This helps them hustle their opponents and create opportunities. They will try a similar strategy against a strong Bengaluru raiding party.

The Giants have trouble the Bulls in the past as they have won 5 games each out of 11 matches, with one encounter ending as a TIE. Gujarat once again displayed terrific team effort in their first match courtesy some amazing leadership by their captain.

Bengaluru Bulls Preview

Former champions are one of the most dreaded sides of the season with a fantastic mix of young raiders and deadly defenders. They bought raider Vikash Kandola for 55.25 lakhs at the auctions thus adding spice to their already dangerous raiding team. Bharat Hooda and Neeraj Narwal were effective in season 9 as the Bulls finished 3rd behind Puneri Patlan and eventual champions Jaipur Pink Panthers. 

The Bulls also have the service of raider Abhishek Singh who was instrumental in the success of U Mumba a few season ago. Hence Bengaluru seem to have one of the best raiding options among all teams. Defenders Saurabh Nandal and Ran Singh Raniya will be the key to their success. The biggest challenge for the Bulls will be their back up defenders. Apart from Saurabh and Ran Singh, they do not have any experienced defender.

Especially the right corner position seems to be their weak point which their opponent may have already identified. They have the option of players like local lad Arulnathababu and Mh. Liton Ali from Bangladesh. But Bulls coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat won’t be worried about this as he has a cavalry of raiders to decimate the opposition.

Raider Bharat Hooda was one of the best raiders last season as he earned 279 raid points from 24 games. The tall, lanky raider troubled most of the teams with his uncanny and quick moves. Left corner Saurabh Nandal executed 68 successful tackles last season and his form will be crucial for the fortunes of his team. 

Unfortunately the Bengaluru Bulls have always had a tough time against the Gujarat Giants. Both teams have shared honour’s in their 11 encounters with 1 game ending in a TIE. They met twice last season and both matches were high scoring games.

Winning Prediction

This will be a high scoring game as both teams will rush through their raids in the first half. Gujarat Giants are known to adapt as per their opponents. Captain Fazel Attrachali was deadly in the first game and he will combine with countryman Nabibaksh and Sahil Gulia to trap raider Bharat Hooda. Just like their first game, the Giants will try and keep one of raiders from the Bulls off the mat. Gujarat raiders Sonu who scored a Super 10 in his first match will target the fragile right corner. Prateek Dahiya may be used sparingly as the Giants may not want to expose his very early in the season.

Vikash Kandola and Bharat Hooda will deceive Fazel Attrachali by staying away from him and targeting the right corner areas of the Giants. Bulls have the option of raider Neeraj Narwal if incase their top raiders get trapped.  Left corner Saurabh Nandal will be the key to their defense as he will have to combine with the other youngsters in the starting 7. 

This will be a tricky affair for the Bulls as they are weak in their defense while the Gujarat Giants are sticky in their defense. The first half may result in lot of points but the second half may cook on a slow burner. The Bulls will win by a slender margin.
