The Fortune Giants have been reckless and maverick this season. They stuck to their standard style and strategy and never took off. Then the team was struck by Covid and everyone thought they would be down and out. On their return to the mat, no one expected them to fight it out. But they surpassed all expectations to win consecutive games by beating the Haryana Steelers and Bengal Warriors. The major reason of this turn-around is the introduction of raider Pradeep Kumar. He has earned 24 points in the last 3 games and has become their back up raider. He is a character and his aggressive has rubbed on to the other teammates. 

Though the Fortune Giants are placed 11th in the points table, this resurgence can be dangerous for some teams as they are booking their berths for the knockout stage. The Fortune Giants have a trio of raiders - Ajay, Rakesh Narwal and Pardeep Kumar. Due to their increase in earning, the defence has got some breathing space. The Pirates are one of the favourites to win the title this season. They have had a bumpy ride in 2022 as their team was struck with Covid. But post recovery, their journey has been even bumpier. They have lost 2 of their last 5 games and they seem to follow a sinusoidal pattern in their performance. They beat the Thalaiva, then lost to the Pink Panthers and then beat the UP Yodha. They are concerned with the fitness of star raider Monu Goyat who did not play in the last game. He was replaced by raider Ghuman Singh who did a good job. Sachin Tanwar will have to play a pivotal role as he leads the Pirates against this former teammates. 

The Pirates have won effortlessly when their raiders and defenders have worked in tandem. Left corner Mohammedreza and Neeraj Kumar have been phenomenal with their hunting while defender Sajin has executed some daring Super tackles.

This is “Mission Impossible” for the Gujarat Fortune Giants as they take on the Pirates. This will be a rude and painful street fight for both the teams. The Pirates will expect Monu Goyat to be fit again so that he can play this crucial game. Raiders Sachin Tanwar and Prashanth Rai will have to shoulder the responsibility of earning raid points quickly so that they can set panic among the Fortune Giants. It will be interesting to see how the Pirate defense tackles raider Pradeep Kumar who is known to be aggressive in his moves. This will also be a test of the Gujarat defense as they will need to avoid unforced errors.
