The Telegu Titans have improved quite a bit since the start of the tournament, but they have not been able to deliver the killer punch. Guess they must also realize that they can just keep fighting this season. They played well against the Bengaluru Bulls and restricted Pawan Sehrawat, but their raiders could not earn enough points.

The Titans defense will be tested once again by the Pirates who are very efficient with their raiders. The Haryana Steelers have played within their limitations but what sets them apart is their perennial enthusiasm and will to keep fighting. They beat the UP Yodha’s by a point the last game and thus completed a hat-trick of wins. They are placed 5th and look like they are generating enough momentum to take them to the next level.

Haryana Steelers Preview

The Haryana Steelers started the season somewhat circumspect, but as the tournament has progressed, they have banked on their intensity and enthusiasm. Coach Rakesh Kumar has been able to instil self-belief due to which the Steelers kept fighting even when they faced losses. This has helped them win 3 back to back matches and move to the 5th spot in the points table. They beat the UP Yodha in a tight match by 1 point and are now ready to face the Fortune Giants.

The Steelers have improved their defense and have taken it to another level. Raider Vikash Kandola is steady with his raiding harvest every time he jumps on the mat like a “Gazel”.

Though raider Meetu is out due to injury, radiers Ashish, Vinay and all-rounder Rohit Gulia have compensated for his absence. But defenders Jaideep and Mohit have become ever more dangerous and they have hunted successfully in the last 3 games. The Steelers have also been able to raise the intensity in their camp resulting in players fighting till the last raid or tackle. 

Jaideep has got the most successful tackles this season with 4 High 5’s.

Defender Surender Nada has executed 4 Super Tackles.

The Steelers have reduced their expenses and increased their income in the last 3 games due to which they have taken a healthy position in the points table. With the current form, they will certainly look forward to exploiting the Telegu Titans and winning another game.

Telugu Titans Preview

The Telegu Titans are last in the points table with only 1 victory to their name. They were rattled by several issues right from their first game and they have not been able to recover from the setbacks. Bahubali Siddharth Desai was seen practicing with his team but he does not look match fit yet. In the meanwhile with the help of youngsters, the Titans continue to fight but victory has eluded them. They lost of the Bulls in the last game and to U Mumba before that.

They suffer some chronic issues and may not be able to find any solution this season. But they have entertained all and continue to play some good kabaddi. Raider Rajneesh has emerged as the most exciting talent from the Titan camp with 67 raid points from just 8 games but he did not play against the Bulls.

Instead,left corner Adarsh had to fill his shoes along with Rakesh Gowda and Ankit Beniwal in raiding.

The Titan defense has also been inconsistent and not much can be done by coach Jagdeesha Kumble. He has to play with whatever resources are available with him. Defenders Sandeep Kandola and Akash Chaudhary have been consistent but Surinder has been a total disappointment this season.

The Titans have been able to execute only 182 successful raids out of 499 team raids.

They have executed only 8 Super Tackles but have the highest Super raids in the tournament. Most of these Super raids have come in the last few games.

They have conceded 17 allouts and their DoD conversion rate is also low.

The Titans have no option other than playing some good kabaddi and continue fighting everytime they enter the arena.

The Telegu Titans will hope that the Steelers will be a bit scratchy as they will be playing after a break. Though the Titans have lost consistently, they have been playing well in their last few games and giving the opposition a tough fight. They will try and do the same when they take on the Steelers. They will remind themselves that they had lost to the Pirates in their earlier bout by just 1 point. This will be an opportunity for them to avenge that defeat. The Steelers have got into a very good winning pattern and they would like to continue with it. They are not averse to playing quick kabaddi and if the Fortune Giants increase the pace of the game, it might just work to the Steelers advantage. The fitness of raider Meetu will be a concern for them, but the Steelers will depend on in rock-solid defence of Jaideep and Mohit to bring them Fortune.
