Haryana Steelers have been one of the vibrant sides of the PKL. The Dhakad boys always display their true emotions on the mat. But they had a tough time just before the festive season as they lost 4 back to back games pushing them to the 8th spot in the points table after playing 7 games.

They heavily depend on teamwork as they do not have any superstars. But this season raider Meetu Sharma has turned on the heat. He has earned 58 raid points which include 3 Super 10’s. He has been ably supported by Manjeet and Prapanjan. Defenders Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Nandal have been in good touch but they need to get the Midas touch of season 8 to propel the Steelers up the points table.

Haryana Steelers haven’t played as badly as it looks on the points table. They lost to U Mumba by a solitary point and similarly to the Gujarat Fortune Giants by a margin of 4 points. The entire unit played well but they lacked the killer punch. All the players in this team are capable of it but someone will have to put their hand up.

Captain Nitin Rawal needs to relook at his form because he is an important asset to the team. He needs to just sharpen his skills as a leader which will help the team tide over difficult situations.  As a team, the Steelers have conducted 8 Super tackles which show the prowess of their defense in difficult situations. They have also conducted 5 Super raids in 7 games.

 They will have to give their best against the Paltan who will have the backing of the local crowd too. The Steelers have a decent record against the Puneri Paltan as they have won 4 out of their 10 battles. As the Haryana Steelers have got their act together with a victory in their last game, they should be able to give the Paltan some taxing times on the mat.

Puneri Paltan Preview

The Puneri Paltan has been living its dream on the mat. After a dicey start to their campaign, they have settled into a good rhythm. They have the self-belief and the firepower to take on any team. They are currently placed 4th in the points table and look comfortable poised to remain in the top 4. 

Post the Diwali break they will be playing on their home turf, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports complex. They will have the backing of thousands of their fans who have been waiting for this moment. In their last game, they bundled out the Jaipur Pink Panthers with finesse. Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat had a double impact of 19 collective points. Captain Fazel Attrachali led the defense effortlessly which resulted in the Paltan beating the strong Jaipur side.

Puneri Paltan has been consistent in its approach. Of the 288 team raids conducted by them, 119 have been successful yielding them 132 raid points. 

They have inflicted 8 all-out and conceded 7. 

Raiders Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat have earned 112 raid points together in 7 games.

The only concern has been the consistency of Iranian all-rounder Nabibaksh and left cover Sanket Sawant. Puneri Paltan has to be careful on that count. Defenders Sombir and Fazel Attrachali are in a hot and spicy form which allows the Paltan to constrict the opponents slowly.

There has never been a TIE between the Paltan and the Steelers. Both squads are strong and electric, but the Paltan seems to be in a better position. They have won 6 out of their 10 encounters. 

Paltan will try the same with the Steelers who haven’t had a good pre-Diwali season. This will be one of the best matches to watch out for in this entire PKL.

Haryana Steelers are coming back from a good win over the Telegu Titans. This win came after 4 consecutive losses for the Steelers. They have got their act together.
