Ranked 8th in the points table, Haryana Steelers have not done justice to the talent they possess. A young and effervescent team has all the virtues but has not been able to achieve the desired results.

In their last encounter against the Gujarat Fortune Giants, they were in devastating form in the first half. They came in with a specific strategy of the Giants and it worked for them. Vikash Kandola delivered a blitzkrieg of raids to inflict 2 all outs in the first 10 minutes of the first half. He ended with a Super 10, so did raider Meetu. But sustainability is an issue with the Steelers and they could not control the game and let it slip away only to lose the match.

This is their biggest issue.

They have had 45 successful team tackles leading to 52 tackle points, 41.18% successful team raids, highest team average raid points.

Numbers favour them, but they are not able to hammer the final nail in the coffin. Most of their matches have been close and coach Rakesh Kumar will have to instil the belief in his players and make sure they take it deep and win matches.

Against U Mumba, they have a slight advantage as Mumba does not have too many raiding options. Plus with Mumba playing in the safe mode, this could be the match from where Haryana Steelers can re-launch themselves in orbit.

Abhishek has already displayed the “lion jump” in the first encounter and with 13 super raids to his name. All looks good for them as they are 3rd in the points table. But in the last few matches they have taken the safer route resulting in 2 tied results.

Their strength is their defence and their quick counter attacks. Defender Harendra was very impressive in the last match as he was able to counter Pardeep Narwal easily. Against the Steelers he will be very effective as the Steelers do not have big raiders in their team.

Their major concern is the third raider if in case Abhishek and Ajith don't have a good day. They have to depend on all rounder’s if they need this support.

Right corner Rahul Sethpal, Defenders Rinku and Iranian Mohsen Maghsoudlou look in good form, hence U Mumba should be able to handle the Steelers quite easily.

Mumba has been guilty of brain fag moments in some matches, which they have to be careful. Their raiders will be facing one of the best defence of Pro Kabbadi, Jaideep, Mohit, Surender Nada and Rohit Gulia.

Haryana Steelers need to take inspiration from the way they played the first half of their last match. Whirlwind raids, deadly defensc, take lead and hold on. Mumba are known to be slow starters so it will not be a surprise if Haryana lead by the end of the first half.

But U Mumba has show good recovery trends and this is where they might steal the match from the Steelers.
