Jaipur Pink Panthers and the Gujarat Giants are teams full of characters. Both teams have a unique style and exhibit some tactical surprises in each match. The Defending champions are yet to taste victory this season, while the Gujarat Giants have already won 3 games.

The defending champions will be playing their first game of the season at the Sree Kanteerva Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. They are yet to taste victory in season 10 as they lost an opportunity to win against the Bengal Warriors. They settled for a TIE in a low scoring match. 

Their star raider and MVP of season 9 was trapped by the Warriors and hence Bhavani Rajput had to step in as the main raider. He went on to score a Super 10. But Arjun got a bit excited during his raids resulting in a green card followed by a yellow card. Hence the Pink Panthers played safe with him in this encounter. 

The Pink Panther were stunned very early by the Bengal Warriors leaving them with 3-4 players on the mat through the first half. Still Jaipur managed to take the lead by half-time. Left corner Ankush got back to precise hunting as he attacked every raider with aggressively. The pocket dynamo scored 4 tackle points bringing back memories of his exploits of season 9.

Captain Sunil Kumar leads from the front. Left cover KS Abhishek has been a good addition to their defense. But veteran Sahul Kumar needs to get back in form in order to help his team defend more efficiently. Sahul Kumar was one of the best defenders of season 9, yet he has not performed up to the mark in the first 2 games. The Pink Panthers have used legend Rahul Chaudhary sparingly in the first 2 matches. They have also tried the option of Iranian defender Reza Mirbahgeri. 

Overall the defending champions need a win to recharge themselves. They also need to need to be proactive during the match. They had to play safe against the Bengal Warriors as they kept on losing players and hence had to settle for a TIE.

Jaipur has to be particularly vary of Gujarat captain Fazel Attrachali. This will be one of the toughest encounters for the Pink Panthers who are still searching for their first victory of the season.

Gujarat Giants Preview

The Gujarat Giants have been the most impressive team of season 10 winning 3 out of their 4 matches. They have been relentless in their raiding. A strong defense led by captain Fazel Attrachali has made it almost impossible for their opponents to break in. Gujarat Giants started the season by beating the Telegu Titans followed by a victory over the Bengaluru Bulls. They were stretched in their encounter with arch-rivals U Mumba which they won by just 2 points. 

Gujarat Giants lost their fourth match to the Patna Pirates. Though this was a close encounter, Gujarat tried to experiment midway during the match. Their main raider Sonu was out post half-time and they gave some match time Prateek Dahiya, right cover Deepak Singh and all-rounder Narender Hooda. It didn’t work, but with three victories under their belt, the Giants can afford to try out a few things.

With some brilliant performances, the Gujarat Giants are leading in all aspects. They have the highest number of successful raids among all teams. 

They have executed 34 successful team tackles which includes 9 Super tackles. This proves that the Gujarat defense is able to fend attacks even with less number of players on the mat. It has been their captain Fazel Attrachali who has executed some daring tackles in difficult situations thus avoiding an all-out.

Gujarat Giants have won 6 out of their 12 encounters with the Pink Panthers. Unfortunately they have not beaten Jaipur since season 8. The defending champions are still searching for the first victory of the season while the Gujarat Giants look like a settled unit. The Pink Panthers have a solid defense with captain Sunil Kumar and left corner Ankush. Both will trouble the Gujarat raiders. Arjun Deshwal may have to play second fiddle to Bhavani Rajput as one of them will score a Super 10. Left cover KS Abhishek will combine well with Sunil Kumar. Unfortunately, defender Sahul Kumar may end with unforced errors. Third raider Ajith will struggle. 

Gujarat will unleash raiders Sonu and Rakesh who will score quickly in the first half. Gujarat will lead by half-time. Captain Fazel Attrachali along with defenders Sombir and Sahil Gulia will trouble Jaipur. Gujarat may inflict an all-out in the first half itself. If Gujarat lead by half-time they will increase the intensity in the second half. They may also try out new players. But if Jaipur Pink Panthers don’t succumb to the pressure, Gujarat will slow the pace post half-time and create panic among the Jaipur players.
