It’s a match between teams who fought hard in their opening encounter and have set the pace for rest of the season. Pink Panthers lost to Gujarat Fortune Giants and Haryana Steelers came close to upset Patna Pirates.

Both teams have shown their class in raiding. Haryana matched every move in their opening encounter. All Rounder Rohit Gulia scored 10 points while defenders Surender Nada and left cover Jaideep Kuldeep combined well to execute tackles successfully.

Jaipur Pink Panthers Preview

Jaipur Pink Panthers showed a lot of spunk and aggression in their opening encounter against the Fortune Giants. They dominated a part of that match but could not accelerate when needed. Deepak Niwas and Amit Hooda look in great shape and that is good news for the Panthers. 

Their defence has also been very good as they have not leaked a lot of points. Sandeep Dhull and Amit Hooda are veterans while Amit and Vishal will have to work harder on their anticipation and traps to be laid. Panthers also have to be careful about unforced errors which lead to all outs thus giving the advantage to the opposition. They could be in a spot of bother if the opposition scores quickly and leaves them gasping. 

But Panthers have the ability to choke their opponents with super tackles. Deepak Hooda is one of the best all rounder with 943 PKL points. They can also use the services of veteran Dharamraj Cheralathan as well as Amit Nagar to bolster their defence. 

Positives:

● Rise of Arjun Deshwal as the main raider, he scored a Super 10 in the first match.

● Deepak Hooda in good form. 

● Need to earn more bonus points in the first half.

● Add Cheralathan to make the defence stronger.

Haryana Steelers Preview

Haryana Steelers started the season with a bang, earning raid points, tackling successfully and taking the game deep against Patna Pirates. Though they could not win the game, there was very little to choose between the two sides, that’s where Steelers won a few brownie points. 

All Rounder Rohit Gulia, Meetu Mahendra and Vikash Kandola combined well as they gathered 20 raid points between them. Jaideep Kuldeep and Surender Nada also worked well earning tackle points regularly. This looks good for the Steelers as their fundamentals look strong. 

Vikash Kandola is one of the finest raiders on the circuit and he looks in great shape this season. They just have to be careful about not running out of steam in the second half. 

They also have a good counter attack provision but momentary lapses have to be avoided. They scored well in their first encounter and displayed great skills in all departments of the game.

Both teams have had close opening matches. 

Jaipur Pink Panthers gave their opponents a run for their money but lost steam late in the second half. Their team looks in great shape physically, but they have to improve their scoring rate. Deepak Niwas Hooda will have to contribute more against the Steelers.

Steelers have a slight advantage as they scored at will in their first match. Except for a few moments in the second half against Patna Pirates, they were in control of the game. If Rohit Gulia, Vikash Kandola and Meetu Maheder strike quickly in the first half, they could run away with the game.
