The Jaipur Pink Panthers had a wonderful beginning to season 9 as they led UP Yodha by 2 points at the end of the first half. They managed to get 6 raid points a well 6 tackle points but got all-out in the first half itself. Even after this, they were ahead by 2 points which raised hopes of an upset. But the second half proved to hot to handle for the Jaipur raiders as they were trapped easily. Pink Panthers suffered another all-out in the second half and could not maintain the momentum.
Right corner Sahul Kumar was shown the green card for his aggressive moves. Defenders Sunil Kumar combined well with Abhishek and Ankush to successfully tackle the opposition raiders. This raises a lot of hopes for the Pink Panthers in their next match.
Patna Pirates played out a tie with Puneri Paltan in their first game of the season after trailing in the first half. Their defense seemed to be stunned by the youthful raids of Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat. Pirates got the Puneri Paltan all-out twice in the game but they could not keep up the pace in earning raid points. They managed to fight their way back in the second half with some fantastic tackles, they still could not accelerate with their raids. It will be another exciting contest between the defense of both teams as they take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Jaipur Pink Panthers Preview

Champions of the inaugural season came up with a start studded line-up as they entered the match in the first game against UP Yodha. Star raider Rahul Chaudhary looked in great shape but could not perform as expected. Young raiders like Arjun Deshwal and Bhavani Rajput were sharp, quick and successful. Raiders Ajith and Devank were also pretty good in their first game.
This biggest asset for the Pink Panthers is their defense. With the likes of Sunil Kumar, Sahul Kumar and Abhishek KS, they can trap any raider on a given day. Especially the combination of left corner Ankush along with Sunil Kumar worked well. Left cover Abhishek too made some daring moves to trap Pardeep Narwal in their first game.
But Jaipur Pink Panthers need to maintain the momentum in their second half. After leading by 2 points in the first half of their first game, they succumbed to some silly advanced tackles. They could not trap with the same efficiency and were all out twice in the match. They did manage to get UP Yodha all-out in the second half, but then they could not earn enough raid points.
Though this is the beginning of the season, Jaipur Pink Panthers will expect experienced defender Sahul Kumar to start conducting successful tackles. Last season he was one of the best defenders with 43 successful tackles in 18 games. He needs to combine well with right cover Abhishek so that they can smash, block and neutralize opposition raiders at will.
Jaipur Pink Panthers has a very good team this season and they can hope to challenge every team. Their first game was a nail biter and they can expect their team to get in the groove at the earliest. They will up against a strong Patna Pirate side who are known for their accuracy, both in raiding as well as in defense. If the Pink Panthers can keep themselves fired throughout the 40 minutes of the game, they can be a force to reckon with.

Patna Pirates Preview

Patna Pirates will be a tad disappointed that they could not win their first game against the Puneri Paltan. Though they will also feel very fortunate that they did not lose that one. In the absence of left corner Iranian Mohammedreza, the Pirate defense could not hunt at will.
The raiding was also a bit reluctant as they could not escape the traps laid by the opposition. Sachin Tanwar and Rohit Gulia did bulk of the raiding, but could not maintain the pace. The Pirate defense got Puneri Paltan all-out twice in the match but they kept chasing them through out the match due to the point deficit.
Defenders Neeraj Kumar, Sajin and right corner Sunil were effective but could not handle the raiding sharpness of Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat. They will have to be more aggressive when they take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers. They will also have to be careful as they will be playing back to back games in 2 days and facing Jaipur who lost their first match by just 2 points.
Raider Vishwas was good on the mat but he will need to take his game to the next level in order to support Sachin Tanwar and Rohit Gulia. Patna Pirates are sincerely missing left corner Mohammedreza as he brings in a different flavour to their defense.
The Pirates were the most consistent side of season 8 as they trounced every opposition. Coach Ravi Shetty will have to get his team back to full efficiency and play more aggressive brand of kabaddi.

Expect another nail biter as Jaipur Pink Panther will be eager to overcome their 2 point loss to UP Yodha while Patna Pirates will be looking for their first win of the season. Arjun Deshwal and Bhavani Rajput are fluid and score aggressively. Ajith and Devank also provide decent support to the raiding party. Super Star Rahul Chaudhary will need to weave his magic to add to these exploits. The Jaipur defense will have to work hard against the Pirates and maintain the consistency that they displayed in the first game.
Patna Pirates will need to work on their intensity as they cannot afford to be slow starters. Their performance in the first half was a bit under par and they cannot afford to lag in the game. The Pirate defense earned 10 tackle points in their first game which needs to improve if they expect to win. But support from other raiders to Sachin Tanwar will be the key to the Pirate success.
