Patna Pirates beat UP Yodha by 11 points in the semi-finals while Dabang Delhi had to work hard to earn their victory over the Bengaluru Bulls. It’s now or never for both teams. Patna Pirates dominated the league from the 3rd to the 6th season as they completed a hat-trick of trophies. They will be looking forward to adding another trophy this time. Dabang Delhi entered this league with a lot of hunger and they played like champions throughout. They learned it the hard way last year as they ended up as runners-up, but not this time. This will be one of the best matches ever in the history of PKL as these two teams enter the battlefield for the final assault. Which will be the last team standing?????

Patna Pirates Preview

The Pirates have been the best side in this season. They may have started off in a sedate and cautious way, but they ended up as the top side after playing 22 league games. They were hit by Covid but they managed to recover in time. They have one of the best team combinations in this tournament. Their biggest asset is their consistency and simplicity. They have not used any complicated strategy and have stuck to the basics. 

They beat the UP Yodha effortlessly in the semi-finals. They won by 11 points as their defenders completely blunted raiders Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill. The Pirate defence earned 16 tackle points out of 38 team points. Defender Mohammedreza who had executed 78 successful tackles before the semi-finals earned 6 points from 7 tackles in the match. Raider Ghumman Singh was their top raider in the semi-finals with 8 points. 

SWAT Analysis:

The Pirate defence will be the key in the finals. Apart from the left corner Mohemmedreza, Sunil, Sajin, and Neeraj Kumar are in top form. They formed an impregnable defence in the semi-finals and also trapped Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill with terrific accuracy.

Pirates will go with a trio of raiders- Sachin Tanwar, Prashanth Rai, and Ghumman Singh. The raiders and defenders have been resonating throughout the season and they will have to repeat their best performance against Dabang. The Pirates look more balanced than any other team.

Star raider Monu Goyat was not in the starting 7 in the semi-finals. The Pirates tried Shubham Shinde as right corner initially but he was substituted by Sunil who earned 5 raid points against UP Yodha.

The Patna Pirates do not have any of their raider in the top 10 list, but all of them have performed exceedingly well.  All of them have tormented the opposition with their agility and speed. Sachin has earned 157 raid points in the league stage. 

The Pirates will have to neutralize Naveen Kumar in the finals so that they can keep Dabang under pressure. It all boils down to the 40 minutes on the mat!!!!!!

Dabang Delhi K.C. Preview

Kabaddi is a funny game. But it has provided Dabang Delhi to redeem itself from the shock they got last season. They could not beat Bengal Warriors and finished as the 2nd best team. They are back and this time their nemesis will be the Patna Pirates. Dabang Delhi has been consistent throughout the season and they were unbeatable in their first 10 games. They were riding on the success of Naveen Kumar who blasted the opposition time and again. But they had to work overtime in the second half of the season as they finished 2nd in the points table and directly qualified for the semi-final. They beat the Bengaluru Bulls by 5 points in a high intensity match which saw a lot of rough play from both sides. Dabang Delhi were able to beat the Bulls due to their speed and agility. They conducted 3 Super raids in the second half which helped them take the game away. Though Pawan Sehrawat created a bit of panic in the last 5 minutes, Dabang Delhi was able to hold on to the lead and booked their ticket for the finals. Now they have an opportunity to win the title which slipped away from them in the last season.

SWAT analysis:

Naveen Kumar has been the star for Dabang Delhi and he will have to carry the load of expectations on his shoulders. Fortunately for him, his fellow raiders Vijay and Neerj Narwal have given his great support. 

Hulk Sandeep Narwal will be the dark horse as he works in stealth mode. Veteran trio of Jeeva Kumar, Manjit Chillar, and Joginder Narwal is very dangerous in big match situations. Another dark horse for Dabang will be defender Krishnan Dhull who scored 3 tackle points in the semi-finals apart from multiple assists. 

Dabang will have to be careful about unforced errors which have troubled them in the past. Even against the Bulls in the semi-finals, they committed basic mistakes in the defence. The Super raids by Naveen and Neerja Narwal saved them. This is the final climb to the summit and their competitors are the Pirates. Dabang will have to give their best to beat the Pirates.

After 136 games in the season, we have the best teams fighting it out for the coveted title. Patna Pirates have been arguably the best team of the season followed by Dabang Delhi. Both have got a very good team balance. They have a well-oiled machine of raiders as well as sensible and alert guardians. This will be a contest between the defenders of both teams. It is very difficult to compare both sides as both have their unique style of playing. But the Patna Pirates look more settled as they have been able to dominate the opposition. Even in the semi-finals, they were in control of the match against UP Yodha. They played to a plan wherein they isolated Pardeep and Surender effectively shutting them out of the game. Dabang Delhi struggled a bit against the Bulls and this may be the difference that may decide the new champion. Dabang Delhi will have to break down the Pirate raiders. They also have to make sure that Naveen is not off the mat for long. Both teams have a fantastic defence.
