These two sides have underperformed this season. The Patna Pirates shocked their fans with consecutive losses, to begin with. They have found their mojo and are back to winning ways. But still, they have a long way to go as they are placed 10th in the points table. They have won their last 3 games which is a welcome sign.

The Haryana Steelers haven’t performed badly but they have lacked the killer punch. Every time they look to win a game, something goes wrong. They were forced to settle for a TIE against the UP Yodha in their last game, a game that they should have won.

As both teams clash it will be interesting to see which team is able to maintain the intensity. The Patna Pirates have found a good combination and have started to deliver. The Patna Pirates had a shocking start to the season. They lost their first 4 games and looked completely out of sorts. Fortunately, they found their rhythm and have looked much better since then. They have not lost any of their last 5 games which is a big relief for their fans. The Pirates haven’t changed a lot of their players but the core group has started performing.

But the impact of the initial losses has pushed them to the 10th position in the points table and it will be a mammoth task for the Pirates to compensate for the initial blemishes. They will need to win most of their remaining games convincingly to help them move up the points table.

They had a tough time against U Mumba in their last game. They managed to win that match by a margin of just 3 points. Sachin Tanwar scored a Super 10 while the biggest impact player was defender Sunil with 6 tackle points. The Pirates are still searching for someone to complement Sachin Tanwar in the raiding department. They are heavily dependent on him and if he fails, the Pirates have a tough time. 

Unfortunately, the Pirates do not have many raiding options which will hurt them in the remaining games. Raiders Monu and Anuj Kumar have played well but they haven’t punched above their weight. Captain Neeraj Kumar’s form has been a big issue for the Pirates. Neeraj has not been able to hunt efficiently this season. He has executed just 14 successful tackles in 10 games. 

All-rounder Iranian Mohammedreza has induced a breath of fresh air in the Pirate camp. He has been the main reason for the turnaround. In just 8 games he has executed 20 successful tackles to help his team win games. But the Patna Pirates have been able to conduct just 150 successful team raids out of their total 420 team raids. This low efficiency will not help them in future games.

They take on a spirited Haryana Steelers who will not be easy to tackle. This will be one of the most challenging games for the former champions.

Haryana Steelers Preview

The Haryana Steelers have been working hard this season. But just hard work may not be enough to win games consistently. Without any superstars in their squad, the Steelers have been impressive. But without that X factor, they have not been able to dominate games. The Steelers are placed 8th after playing 10 games out of which they have won just 4 matches.

They were forced to settle for a TIE against the UP Yodha in their last match. Ideally, they should have won the game. The Dhakka boys were under a lot of pressure in the first half as they trailed by 10 points. But raiders Meetu Sharma and Manjeet Dahiya reversed the trend by earning 12 raid points as well as inflicting an all-out in the second half. But they lacked the killer punch and ultimately settled for a TIE.

They have won 2 out of their last 4 games and tied a couple of games. They still have a long way to go in this season. The Haryana Steelers are dependent on Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Nandal for their defense. Both have contributed handsomely to the team's cause. They have executed 9 Super tackles in 10 games along with 5 Super raids. 

Though the Steelers have inflicted 11 all-outs in 10 games they have conceded 13 which is one of their major problems. 

Raider Meetu Sharma has been impressive as he has earned 15 Do or Die raid points. 

It is because of a drop in intensity and unforced errors that the Haryana Steelers have to depend on Super tackles and DoD raids.

They have always given a tough fight to bigger teams including the Patna Pirates. They have won 3 out of their 7 games which is an impressive record. The Haryana Steelers could not beat the Pirates even once in their 2 encounters. But this season the Pirates look vulnerable and the Steelers can exploit this situation to improve their own position in the points table.

Winning Prediction

Welcome to another entertaining game of this season. Two young teams with different issues clash. Both teams have experienced drops in intensity and both teams need to win most of their upcoming games. 

The Patna Pirates have got back their rhythm and look dangerous. Raider Sachin Tanwar will trouble the Haryana Steelers defense while left corner Mohammedreza will hunt down Manjeet Dahiya. But the form of Captain Neeraj Kumar is a big concern for the Pirates along with the lack of raiding support for Sachin Tanwar.

The Haryana Steelers will once again rely on their hunters, viz Manjeet and Meetu Sharma. Defenders Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit will neutralize Sachin Tanwar thus pushing the Pirates on the backfoot.
