The Haryana raiders rose to the occasion as they earned consistently to outwit the defending champions. The Puneri Paltan hammered their opponents by a massive margin of 16 points. It was once again pure teamwork as none of their raiders scored a Super 10 but they complemented their defense which earned 13 tackle points in the match. Hence this will a contest between the best and the unpredictable. Haryana Steelers have entered their maiden final and their coach Manpreet will be eager to break all barriers with his young guns. But they will be up against the wounded Puneri Paltan who would like to avenge their defeat in the finals of season 9.

Puneri Paltan Preview

The Puneri Paltan has been the deadliest team of this season. With 18 victories in 23 matches, the Paltan has dominated every opponent. They entered the semi-finals with a lot of confidence. They were up against the in-form Patna Pirates. But the Paltan stuck to the basics as they defeated the Pirates by a huge margin of 16 points. This is a big statement and a huge warning to the Haryana Steelers. One can say that the Puneri Paltan has been an epitome of teamwork and consistency and they have brewed the best recipe for the season by any team.

The Paltan played the first half of the semi-final in their usual aggressive style. They led by 9 points by half-time as they executed a crucial all-out on the Pirates. With 6 tackle points and another all-out in the second half, there was no looking back for the Paltan. They never allowed the Pirates to recover. The raiding trio of Aslam Inadmar, Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite resonated to score 19 raid points between them. All-rounder Mohammedreza scored yet another Hi 5 while defenders Abhinesh and Sanket Sawant scored 3 tackle points each. Mohammedreza is getting better with every match as if he has set his eyes on the title. Mohammedreza has been brutal with this ankle holds which left the opposition gasping for breath in most games. It will be very difficult for the Haryana Steelers to handle him in the finals.

As a team the Paltan has executed the highest number of successful tackles which is 322.  Pune has the highest average tackle points per match.

Their raiding efficiency was around 43% mid-season. By the end of the league stage this number has come down to about 39%.

The have earned 922 team points which is the highest by any team. The Paltan has inflicted 45 all-outs in the season which is massive.

The Paltan takes on the Haryana Steelers in the finals. They lost to Jaipur Pink Panthers last year. This defeat has haunted Pune through season 10 and it was quite evident in each match they played. They have been aggressive through the season. Puneri Paltan has treated every match as a final and they have consistently delivered as a team. They lost one of their league matches to the Steelers. This was very early in the season when they looked invincible. But the Paltan got their revenge in the next league match as they defeated Haryana by a margin of 15 points. As they enter the finals, bulldozing their opponents on the way to the title will be the only thing on their mind.

Haryana Steelers Preview

The Haryana Steelers are living a dream. They were not the best team of the season, but with their sheer grit and team work they made it all the way to the semi-finals. They conned the defending champions in a low scoring match to emerge as contenders for the title. The Haryana Steelers have entered their maiden finals as they take on the runners-up of season 9, the Puneri Paltan.

The Haryana Steelers won 13 out of their 22 league games to finish 5th in the points table. Haryana had a lot of issues in the first half of the season. Raiding was one of their major concern. Coach Manpreet had to get veteran Chandran Ranjit to set the tone post which youngsters like Vinay, Shivam Patare and all-rounder Ashish brought some stability. Haryana improved their efficiency in team raids to about 35% due to these changes. Captain Jaideep and right cover Mohit Nandal have been the pillars of their defense. Both are in the top 10 with Mohit executing 64 successful tackles in 23 matches.

Their team tackle success rate is about 44% which is second to table toppers Puneri Paltan. Hence the defense has become their main weapon. Haryana managed to inflict 33 Super tackles in the season which is the highest by any team. Whenever their team is in trouble, their defenders have been their saviors. This also helped them earn additional points. Haryana has also inflicted 31 all-outs but at the same time they have also conceded 34.

The Steelers used all possible tricks against the Pink Panthers in the semi-finals. Raider Vinay scored a Super 10 while young Shivam Patare scored 7 raid points. This kept them ahead of their opponents through the match. all-rounder Ashish and defener Rahul Sethpal were impressive in the semi-finals as Haryana shocked the defending champions by just 4 points. As the Haryana Steelers enter their maiden final, they will be up against the mighty Puneri Paltan. Coach Manpreet has guided the young guns to the last battle. It will be up to the Haryana players to display nerves of steel and script history by winning season 10.

Welcome to the big bang championship bout of season 10. After toiling for 23 matches each, Puneri Paltan and the Haryana Steelers have made it to the final bout. This has been an intriguing and exciting journey for both teams. The Puneri Paltan have been consistent and teamwork has been their main weapon. They have maintained the same team structure almost through the season. The raiding trio of Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite will be on top of their game. They will target the right cover and left cover positions as Haryana have been weak in these areas. Pune’s biggest asset is their defense. Left corner Mohammedreza, Abhinesh, Sanket Sawant and Gaurav Khatri will be unbeatable. One of them will score a Hi 5.

The Haryana Steelers know their limitations and they will plan accordingly. Coach Manpreet will be aware of the fact that matching Puneri speed will be very crucial for their survival. Just like they slowed down the match against the Pink Panthers, Haryana will aim to regulate the Paltan in the first half. Captain Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal may just hold the Puneri raiders but they may lose intensity post half-time. Raiders Vinay and Shivam will find it difficult to score against the Puneri defense. This will be a contest of teamwork and tactical brilliance. The Haryana Steelers are chasing the unknown while the Puneri Paltan looks obsessed with earning the respect they lost in the finals of season 9.

Puneri Paltan will be the new champions.
