Defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers are steadily rising in the points table while the Tamil Thalaiva has slipped to the 11th spot after a decent start to the season. Jaipur had a few hiccups in some of the matches, but they have generated momentum in their last few games. They defeated UP Yodha convincingly as they won the match by a margin of 17 points.

A bunch of young players with a terrific attitude entertained their fans in the first few games of the season. The Tamil Thalaiva looked invincible until they crossed paths with U Mumba. Tamil lost that match by a margin of 13 points and followed it up with another defeat at the hands of the Patna Pirates. The margin of defeat was once again 13 points. 

Tamil Thalaiva have lost a bit of momentum in their last 2 games. Their raiders faltered on both occasions. The Tamil Thalaiva is largely dependent on young raiders Narender Kandola and Ajinkya Pawar. Nitin Singh and Jatin are their back-up raiders. Unfortunately Narender and Ajinkya have been decoded by their opponents and Tamil Thalaiva will have to look at alternative strategies to counter this. 

But their biggest asset is their defense. Captain Sagar has been impressive while left corner Sahil Gulia has hunted with class. Defender Himanshu scored 8 points in the last match. He had to work overtime as a part-time raider against the Patna Pirates. Himanshu scored 3 touch points and 3 bonus points apart from 2 tackle points. This was a desperate attempt by the Thalaiva as their main raiders proved ineffective.

The defending champions are slowly gathering momentum as they have moved to the 4th spot in the points table. Jaipur lost their first match of the season and followed it with a TIE against the Bengal Warriors. But they are back to winning ways as they have won 3 out of their 6 matches. They blanked out UP Yodha by 17 points in their last match. 

Jaipur used their initial matches to try out different combinations. They used Rahul Chaudhary along with Sahul Kumar. But Jaipur has a set game plan which revolves around their star raider Arjun Deshwal. The MVP of season 9 has earned 57 raid points which includes 2 Super raids. Veteran Ajith has also contributed as a side-kick. Overall the Pink Panthers have followed a more defensive approach this season. Captain Sunil Kumar along with left corner Ankush as the pillars of their defense. Iranian all-rounder Reza Mirbagheri has been impressive along with KS Abhishek and Lucky Sharma.

This has helped the Pink Panthers complement the scoring from their raiders. The defenders have earned 57 tackle points in 6 matches. They have also inflicted 7 all-outs on their opponents though Jaipur needs to improve on this particular number. Jaipur raiders have also executed 4 Super raids which takes the steam out of their opponents. 

Left corner Ankush has not yet fired on all cylinders. He was one of the best defenders last year and the Pink Panthers are heavily dependent on his exploits. Captain Sunil Kumar has executed just 13 successful tackles in 6 matches. None of the Jaipur defenders are in the top 10. The Pink Panthers will take on the Tamil Thalaiva in front of their fans which will be a challenge. Tamil Thalaiva shocked Jaipur last year during the league phase. Season 8 witnessed Jaipur being forced to settle for a TIE in 2 of their league matches against the Thalaiva. Hence this encounter will be a tricky one for the defending champions.

Tamil Thalaiva will be aiming for redemption in front of their fans at Chennai. The Men in yellow will go all-out against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. Raiders Narender Kandola and Ajinkya Pawar have been ordinary in their last few matches. Hence the Thalaiva may shift to paln b with raiders Nitin and Jatin leading the charge in the first half. Captain Sagar along with Sahil Gulia will targer Jaipur raider Arjun. They will try to keep him off the mat for long periods. Defender Himanshu will contribute in the raids too with some quick bonus points. The first half will be slow as both teams will test each other. 

Jaipur Pink Panthers will unleash Arjun Deshwal but he may falter in his first few raids. Left corner Ankush will leak a few points with unforced errors, but Captain Sunil, Reza and Lucky Sharma will keep the Tamil raiders under control. 

The second half of the match will be highly explosive as both teams will rush through their raids. Both teams have similar weaknesses which will entertain the crowd. Jaipur Pink Panthers look better than the Thalaiva but on home turf, Tamil defenders may just play spoil-sport with the defending champions.
