Currently placed 9th in the points table, the men in yellow are staring down the barrel with just 7 victories from 17 matches. The Thalaiva had won 4 consecutive matches which helped them move to the 9th spot. But they suffered a breakdown against the defending champions. Jaipur defeated the Thalaiva by a margin of 15 points. This was a big blow to the Tamil fans whose hopes went through the roof last week as their team won back to back games. Raider Narender Kandola scored a Super 10 but Ajinkya Pawarwas below average and so was their defense. Captain Sagar could score just 1 tackle points while the others disappointed too. Tamil Thalaiva can win matches only on the basis of team efforts. 

Tamil Thalaiva has a decent success rate of about 44% in team tackles which is second best to topper Puneri Paltan. That is their strength. Defender Sahil Gulia has been impressive apart from captain Sagar. But their chances of winning increase if the defense is able to resonate as a unit.

UP Yodha has under-performed in season 10. With one of the best combination of raiders and defenders, the Yodha has simply wasted its chances. Currently placed 11th in the points table, its future in the season looks bleak. They have been able to win just 1 out of their last 5 matches. It is hard to believe that a team with the likes of Pardeep Narwal, Surender Gill, Sumit and Nitesh Kumar are not able to forge a winning partnership. 

UP started quite well in the season, but they got caught up in a mental trap. It may be fatigue or lack of creative strategy, the UP Yodha has failed on all counts. Just as season9, Pardeep Narwal was expected to be targeted by their opponents. Hence raider Surender Gill took the lead while Pardeep played second fiddle. This formula worked as Surender has earned 87 raid points from 10 matches. But since then, Surender has not been available due to a freak injury. UP Yodha has used young raider Gagana Gowda in his place.

Pardeep Narwal displayed his class in a couple of matches by scoring Super 10’s. But somehow the Yodha has not been able to win. Nothing seems to be working for this team.
