The Telegu Titans will be happy that at least they could equal their record of season 9 where they won 2 matches. Season 10 hasn’t been different as they have won just 2 out of their 15 matches. Still their fans have a lot of faith in their team and support them whole-heartedly. Telegu Titans signed Hi Flyer Pawan Sehrawat for 2.6Cr INR in the auctions thus making him the most expensive player of the season. But this move did not bring any luck for the Titans.  

Telegu Titans have conceded 632 points in 15 matches and have conceded the maximum number of all-outs.

They have just about 34% success rate in team tackles while their raiding efficiency is around 31%. They will be up against the Tamil Thalaiva who are placed 10th in the points table. 

The Telegu Titans won their second game of the season when they defeated the UP Yodha. It was a high scoring match as the Titans looted 49 team points. Pawan Sehrawat and Omkar Patil earned 26 raid points collectively. But the joy of winning a match after a long time did not last forever as the Titans succumbed to the Haryana Steelers in their next. The journey of season 10 has been a complete anti-thesis for the Hyderabadi team. They ran out of gas as the Steelers as they witnessed a total breakdown of their defense. One of the most underrated teams of the league, Tamil Thalaiva always had superstars in its ranks. Still the Thalaiva could not reach out for the stars over the years. They performed beyond expectations last year when they forced their way into the play-off only to lose in the eliminator. But that was a spirited performance by them in season 9. The Thalaiva started off on a positive note in this season as they won a couple of matches. But they broke down at crucial moments in the next few matches resulting in a relegation in the lower half of the points table. They struggled with their raiding for some time. But the Thalaiva has shown some spark in the last few matches. They have won 3 out of their last 5 matches. Their last couple of victories have been huge as they defeated the Patna Pirates followed by a win over regional rivals Bengaluru Bulls. 

Ajinkya Pawar has earned back to back Super 10’s while Narender Kandola has scored 20 raid points in the last 2 matches. This is the formula for success for the Thalaiva. They need their young raiders to earn handsomely so that their defense can tamper with the opposition. Unfortunately for the Tamil Thalaiva, their backup raiders haven’t been effective. Hence whenever either Narender or Ajinkya fails, they simply lose track of the match. 

Sagar was one of the best defenders last year and he has started season 10 with some fluid tackles. Left corner Sahil Gulia and defender Mohit are dangerous customers. Defender M Abhisek needs to be consistent for the Thalaiva to win regularly. 

Tamil is up against the slippery Telegu Titans who have been listless this season. Tamil Thalaiva have a good record against the Titans as they have won 7 out of their 13 encounters. They have not lost to the Telegu Titans since season 7. The Thalaiva defeated the Telegu Titans in their first encounter of season 10 on 13th December 2023. It was not a cakewalk for the Thalaiva as they scrapped through with a 2 point victory. As the tournament has entered its rivalry week, the Thalaiva will leave no stone unturned to win this match and jump up in the points table. This will be a golden opportunity for the Thalaiva to get back to winning ways.

The second edition of the southern derby will be interesting as the Tamil Thalaiva take on the Telegu Titans. The Titans displayed grit and passion in their match against the UP Yodha as they pumped in 49 team points. But they faltered in their next game against the Haryana Steelers. Captain Pawan Sehrawat will have to carry the burden of his team as he will score a Super 10. He may not get enough support from the support raiders. All-rounder S Sanjeevi will be effective in phases. The Telegu defense is in dire straits as they will leak points heavily.

Tamil raiders Narender and Ajinkya will exploit this situation. One of them will score a Super 10.
