If there are 2 teams that are evenly matched this season, they are U Mumba and Haryana Steelers. Both teams do not have big names, both teams rely on teamwork and both teams lose their intensity once in a while.

Haryana Steelers went down fighting to the defending champion, a match they could have won. They matched Dabang Delhi raid to raid and tackle to tackle in the second half of the match but could not compensate for the slight deficit of the first half. More importantly, raider Manjeet and Meetu have forged a wonderful partnership while raider Vinay has been used regularly. Defenders Jaideep and Mohit have been consistent in trapping opponents regularly.

U Mumba lost to the Puneri Paltan in their last game. Their fans were on edge as Mumba almost snatched a TIE in that game. A drop in the intensity in the second half and a freak all-out cost them the match. Captain Surender was rusty with many unforced errors as Mumba did not get enough time to counterattack. They will have to repair these leaks before they take on the Steelers.

A new look Mumba has walked the tough path for many years. They have a new team without the legendary Fazel Attrachli and they have a young coach in the form of Anil Chaprana. This season has been a case of retracing your roots and cultivating a new brand of kabaddi.

Mumba got thrashed by Dabang Delhi in their opener but won their next 2 games. This gave them hope and self-belief. Young raiders like Ghuman, Jai Bhagwan, and Ashish have excelled on the mat and have collectively scored 68 raid points in 4 games. Unfortunately, Mumba has conducted the least number of successful raids this season. 

They have been on the back foot more often as a lesser number of players on the mat has been a norm for them. But they have still executed 4 Super tackles avoiding all-outs regularly. This is a cause of concern as most of their players are off the mat reducing the team's power throughout the game. U Mumba has not worked on bonus point collection as well as DoD conversion. Hence Mumba does not have an additional source of income.  

Defenders Rinku Narwal and left corner Mohit have been consistent but Captain Surinder Singh along with Harender and Kiran Magar has not delivered. U Mumba has a better record against the Steelers as they have won 6 out of their 11 encounters. But Mumba could not defeat the Steelers in the last season, their first match ended in a TIE and then Mumba lost the second one by a margin of 11 points.

Haryana Steelers Preview

One of the finest teams on the circuit, Haryana Steelers is missing the X factor. Many are fond of the way they contest and conduct themselves on the mat. Young raiders like Manjeet and Meetu have performed beyond expectations. The Steelers have defenders like Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit who are extremely dangerous while all-rounders like Nitin Rawal have been in decent form.

Haryana lost to the Jaipur Pink Panthers and then to Dabang Delhi. They lost to Pink Panthers primarily as their defense crumbled under pressure. Raider Meetu scored 16 points against them as the Steelers lost by a margin of 13 points. They had a tough game against Dabang and their fans were hoping for an upset. But they lost the game by mere 2 points even though they fought back with 24 points in the second half.

Haryana has had a tough life on the mat this season. They will be up against U Mumba who is more or less living the same way. This will be an interesting contest as both teams need to win in order to maintain the momentum. Both teams have a decent record against each other as Haryana has won 4 out of their 11 games while Mumba has won 6. 

Captain Joginder Narwal has marshaled his troops quite well but his form has been dicey. He has not been able to dominate from the left corner position. All-rounder Nitin Rawal and right-corner Monu have also been inconsistent though both of them are capable of much more. Haryana Steelers have a decent measure of the way Mumba plays, hence they will try and slow down the game, take the lead and keep the pressure on the U Mumba raiders. Haryana will need to work more on collecting bonus points consistently.

Both teams will not give an inch as they are placed in a similar zone in the points table. U Mumba lost their last game to the Paltan and it was just because they lost intensity in the later part of the match. Captain Surinder Singh will have to be careful as he has been guilty of butter fingers and Haryana raiders will definitely target him. Defender Harender is also due to some points. Raiders Jai Bhagwan and Ghuman will trouble the brittle Steelers defense.

Jaideep Dahiya will play a major role in the Haryana defense against Mumba. He has been sharp in his tackles and this will put a lot of pressure on the Mumba raiders. Both teams will also try to slow down the game and play on Do or Die raids. Raiders Manjeet and Meetu have formed a wonderful looting squad as both have been athletic and acrobatic in their escapes. This will be another close match and both teams may just settle for a TIE!!!
