The UP Yodha has peaked at the right time. They were in a dicey situation mid-season as they were losing matches regularly. But with Pardeep Narwal finding his mojo and raiders Surender Gill and Rohit Tomar complementing him, the Yodha has become a dangerous opponent for many teams. 

The Yodha has lost just 1 game out of their last 5 matches. They settled for a TIE with the Bengal Warriors earlier in the season. This match was a comedy of errors as the UP Yodha almost lost the game after dominating 90% of the time.

 But post this the Yodha beat the Haryana Steelers by 6 points, and Telegu Titans by 9 points followed by a victory over Dabang Delhi by a margin of 19 points. Pardeep Narwal looted 22 points in that match. But the Yodha faltered in their last game against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. Though Pardeep scored a Super 10, the entire UP defense was listless as they could score just 4 tackle points in the entire match part from conceding 2 all-outs. 

This may have been a blip for the Yodha but they need to be careful as the playoff approach. 

Dubki King Pardeep Narwal has scored 147 raid points in 15 matches while the Man of Steel, Surender Gill has 132 raid points to his name. Rohit Tomar has been a revelation as he has earned 42 points in 11 matches most of them coming in the last 5 games. 

The Yodha has a success rate of almost 42% in team raids and 38% in team tackles. They have executed 16 Super raids which is the highest by any team. This has been possible as all 3 raiders have executed multi-point raids regularly. They have also inflicted 25 all-outs which has helped the Yodha decimate its opponents.

They will be up against a maverick Gujarat Fortune Giants who can trouble the Yodha. Earlier in the season, the Fortune Giants had defeated the Yodha in a high-scoring match. It was a raider's delight as the match saw 4 raiders scoring a Super 10. UP will seek revenge as well as valuable points to boost their position in the points table.

Gujarat Giants Preview

The Gujarat Fortune Giants have disappointed their fans this season. They have shown glimpses of their potential but the Giants have not fulfilled their destiny. Languishing at the 11th spot in the points table, the Fortune Giants are more or less out of the playoff unless there is some miracle.

The Gujarat Fortune Giants had a slippery defense throughout the season and were mostly dependent on earnings via raids. Their success rate in team tackles is just 31%. They have conceded 532 team points along with 20 all-outs in 14 matches. They have been able to win just 5 out of their 14 games which have kept them below the poverty line in the points table.

Raiders Chandran Ranjeet, Rakesh, and Mahendra Rajput have worked relentlessly but the defense could not complement their efforts. Prateek Dahiya was the rising star for the Fortune Giants which his dubki skills. But he was injured mid-season and could play too many games. The Fortune Giants made a tactical error by not using the services of raider Pradeep Kumar who is no less than a Maninder Singh considering his build. 

The Fortune Giants have displayed contrasting tactics. In some games, they have reduced the pace and gambled on DoD raids while in other matches they have been over-aggressive. They beat the UP Yodha in their last meeting in a high-scoring match. Gujarat scored 51 team points and leaked 45points. This has not allowed the team to stabilize and play as per their opponents.

The Fortune Giants has executed just 1 Super tackle this season which is the lowest among all teams as well as very disappointing. This also reflects the mood in the Gujarat defense. Unfortunately, they do not have many options as their bench strength seems to be limited in terms of defenders. But the Fortune Giants have also been guilty of not giving opportunities to young defenders to showcase their talent.

Winning Prediction

UP Yodha will take this match as an opportunity to get back into winning mode. They also need to avenge their earlier defeat to the Fortune Giants. Gujarat with its limited resources on the mat can just hope for a good day at the office. Raiders Rakesh and Chandran Ranjit will earn well, and one of them will score a Super 10. 

Ideally, Gujarat should field a new team altogether to surprise Yodha. Defender Arkam Shaikh has gone cold all of a sudden and he will leak points. 

UP Yodha will unleash the Dubki king along with raiders Surender Gill and Rohit Tomar. They will target Gujarat defenders Shankar Gadai and Sandeep Kandola. Left corner Sumit and right cover Ashu Singh will be aggressive from the first raid targeting Gujarat raider Rakesh. The Yodha will not give away bonus points too.

This will be an interesting match as the Fortune Giants will slow down the game in the first half. The second half will be much more exciting as UP will go all out to win the game by a huge margin.
